We are a practice of 4 doctors, 2 nurses, 1 HCA, 1 phlebotomist and 20 additional staff. Between us we look after over 8,900 patients and rising in the Aldershot area. We aim to provide a high standard of personal care for our patients and a comprehensive range of medical services. You can read more about us in the section ‘staff’ ...here...Our surgery is located at Blackwater Way and we moved there in December 2005.
If you are looking for a practice to join or if you are already registered with this practice, we hope that you will find the information on our website useful. The same information can be found in our Practice Leaflet, which is available from our reception or as a PDF download - "Border Surgery Practice Leaflet 2011/2012"...here...
Registration forms can be obtained from reception. Two forms of identification are required; one of which needs to have proof of residency and photo ID. On completion you will be offered an appointment for a new patient health check. A map of our catchment area is available to view at reception.
Please note that our building is fully disability access compliant and has two disabled parking bays, 'stair-free' access to the whole of the ground floor and a lift for access to the second floor. Should you require any assistance to access our building, please phone us when you are outside and a member of the team will come out to assist you.
Starting from 6.30pm on Tuesday 22nd January 2013, instead of phoning NHS Direct or our Out of Hours Number you simply dial 1 1 1 from any phone. Calls to 111 are free of charge from landlines and mobile phones. This number replaces both NHS Direct and the old Out of Hours number. By the end of March 2013 the whole of the UK will be linked to this new number.
Until the end of March, if you wish to contact the service and are outside of the Rushmoor/Hart area, you should dial 01962 718961. (Note that calls are chargeable to this number.). This new service will be advertised locally in papers, on the radio and on bill boards from about 10th February 2013.
Call 111 when it's less urgent than 999
We will be changing our clinical software system on Tuesday 28th May 2013. Planning and training has been ongoing over the last few months and we hope to minimise inconvenience to our patients. As with all new things we will need time to adjust to the new system and we would ask that you are patient with us if we appear to be taking more time than usual around 28th May.
Please note that our On-Line Prescription and Appointment service will be suspended from 9.30am on 22nd May 2013. Please ensure that you have put all repeat prescription requests on the system by this time as we will be unable to issue repeat prescriptions on Thursday 23rd and Friday 24th May. Our new system will be on line from Tuesday 28th May 2013. Further details of how to obtain your new On-Line system log in will follow soon on this web site.
We thank you in advance for your support and patience during this major system change.
The Department of Health have launched a Whooping Cough Vaccination campain for pregnant women between the 28th and 38th week of pregnancy. We are carrying out this vaccination programme for our patients. Should you fall into this category, please contact reception, who will make you an appropriate appointment with our nurses. You can have this vaccination at the same time as the flu vaccination. Should you have any queries regarding the immunisation, please contact either your midwife or the surgery.
The Practice has decided to form a 'Virtual' Patient Group (email group) so that we can ask your opinion without taking too much of your time. The plan would be to email you every few months, with requests for your opinion on various things. This would usually take the form of an on-line survey, which would only take about 5 minutes to complete. We would really appraciate it if you would join this group and ask that you let the reception team know that you wish to join when you next visit us or just give us a call to let us know. You will then hear from us with our first survey. Thank you for your support on this initiative.
